07 Nov Edition 3 – Nuclear Power Plants in South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland
In this Edition 3 of the Australian Nuclear for Climate website we explore:
- The number of nuclear power plants required in South Australia, Western Australia ad Queensland
- We make projections for the number of nuclear power generators to provide some 70% of our our manufacturing sector assuming 80% electrification of the current fossil fuel consumption.
- We add Small Modular Reactors into the mix. These are required to meet the needs of our states with low population densities and isolated grids
We then add up the number of 1.1GW AP 1000 and 225MW small modular reactors required to meet these needs and apportion them to the various regions of Australia in areas called “Regions of Interest”.
